The Reason Behind People Snoring

On an average, 45 out of every hundred people snore when they sleep. Although the majority of those who snore are men, some women are also afflicted with this same problem. An adult male who has weight disorders has the highest chances of snoring. Those who suffer from colds, flu, and plugged up nose because of allergies also face the chances of snoring.

Snoring

Snoring is caused when there is an obstruction of the air passage when a person sleeps. The throat muscles vibrate every time we breathe and when the air passage gets irritated or blocked; the body tries to overcome the obstruction and this causes people to snore.

There can be various causes of snoring. And the first cause almost always happens to be excess weight. The extra fat in the bodies of obese people cause obstructions in the air passage when they sleep and so they snore so as to overcome the obstruction.

Another reason of snoring can be more season-related. When the nose gets blocked because of cold or flu, breathing shifts to the mouth. The throat, unable to adjust to the change in position, emits the snoring sounds.

There can be a lot many reasons as well. Some of the more common causes are nasal polyps, deviated septum, medicine-induced snoring, long uvula or a long soft palate. Snoring can now be treated completely.
